Trainees exempted from issuing temporary driving license

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the cabinet official meeting at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.

A draft decision made by the Minister of Interior to exempt trainees from renewing a fee for issuing temporary driving license in the driving school to learn motor vehicles was approved by the cabinet ministers.

According to the draft decision, the driving school trainees, who were unable to complete their prescribed examination procedures to receive a licence due to the closure of the schools in the country because of Covid-19 pandemic, are now exempt from fees for renewing their permits that got expired from March 3, 2020 until August 1, 2020.

A decision drafted by the Minister of Education and Higher Education to reform the scholarships committee was also approved by the Cabinet
Under the Provisions of Law No. 9 of 1976 Regulating Scholarships, a scholarship committee is formed in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and is responsible for drawing up scholarship policy and planning and investigating the country’s actual needs for them.
