Four Bangladeshi expatriates have been sentenced to three years in jail and subsequent deportation by the Court of Appeal.

The accused have been reportedly charged for detaining and torturing two of their compatriots and grabbing some money from them.

The event took place when one of the defendants tricked the first victim into meeting him at his accommodation claiming his sponsor needed him for a certain task, as reported by the local Arabic daily, Arrayah.

The victim, upon arriving at the location, was detained by the defendants, who started to attack him. They demanded a ransom for his release.

The second victim was then called by the first, based on request of his captors. Thus, the two of them were detained and tortured for three days before being rescued by the police.
