The Coca-Cola Company, world’s largest beverage maker, announced the official opening of its first bottling plant in Qatar in Al Mana, with an investment of $36m (QR132m).

The new lat has more than 500 brands and sells 1.9 billion servings a day in more than 200 countries, as reported by The Peninsula.

Moreover, the bottling plant is spread over an area of more than 28,000 square metres and located in the New Industrial Area. It contains PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) plastic bottle production lines that produces a range of sparkling and still beverages.

The plant will reportedly employ approximately 300 staff in the first phase including production and distribution.

As a matter of fact, the Atlanta based beverage giant said the plant represents Coca-Cola’s long-term commitment to Qatar and is the latest in a series of investments throughout the Middle East region as reported by The Peninsula..
