Everyone wakes up in the morning with breath that is not fresh. Everyone is trying to find a way to get rid of it. People with perfect oral hygiene are also having problems with bad breath in the morning, although the intensity varies from person to person.  Bad breath is the result from a decrease of saliva during the course of the night.

What causes stinky morning breath?

Unfortunately, as we sleep throughout the night, salivation is decreases when you’re not eating. Without saliva in the mouth, food particles and dead cells coat the soft tissues of your mouth and allow the bacterial build-up.

Of course, maintaining a good oral hygiene habit is important, however there are some other factors to consider such as brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing and brushing your tongue all play a part in the prevention of stinky morning breath. You can use high quality antibacterial toothpastes and mouthwashes that can neutralize bacteria and odors. But, you must be aware that getting rid of this problem requires time.

How to prevent stinky morning breath?

To prevent morning breath problem, it is important to ensure that your mouth is free from food particles and bacteria,  Well since it is mostly caused by bacteria, you need to create an environment free of bacteria that cause the bad breath. Bacteria thrive in an acidic environment, so you should use alcohol-free mouthwash as alcohol can dry your mouth. You should also try breathing through your nose and dry out your mouth as well.
