What Can You Do To Spend Your Free Transit In Qatar?

Qatar introduces free visa on arrival for travellers transiting Doha for up to 96 hours and it also offers a free one-night stay from a selection of four and five-star hotels at absolutely no charge in Doha.

The country has plenty to offer its tourists – from Museum of Islamic Art, to Souq Waqif. Don’t forget to relish the famous Baklava or the Qatari desert Umm Ali.

 Museum of Islamic Art:

This museum has masterpieces that come from the royal treasure houses around the world. It’s been designed by one of the greatest architects in the world IM Pei. MIA has the world’s best collection of metal work, ceramic, jewellery, textiles, wood work and Islamic manuscripts and artefacts.

The museum acquires international artists and artefacts in order to exhibit. Souq Waqif:

Souq Waqif is the one stop destination for shop, dine and simply relax.

You can find a maze of small shops offering an array of Middle Eastern commodities, like spices, perfumes, jewellery, clothing and handicrafts.

Apart from shops, this souq offers dozens of restaurants with cuisines like Qatari, Yemeni, Iraqi, Syrian and Indian, along with Sheesha lounges.

Katara Cultural Village

Katara is preferably explored during the day for its architecture and picturesque beauty. A beach guarded by lifeguards offers some watersports during promising climate.

Katara is famous for its handicraft souq, opera house, libraries, an amphitheatre, art galleries and other academic facilities, cafes, museum facilities, other business establishments, green areas and information center.

The Katara Amphitheatre is known for its beauty that is created as a mixture of the Islamic features and classical Greek theatre concept.

Pearl Qatar

This is a man-made island with a yacht-lined marinas, waterfront dining and five-star food along with some luxury shopping.

Pearl Qatar is inspired by French, Italian and Spanish architecture. It’s a popular attraction and a must-visit.

Shopping

From Landmark Mall, City Centre, Doha Festival City, Mall of Qatar, Gulf Mall to Ezdan Mall, you can find well-known brands and it’s basically a shopping paradise.

Villagio is another place you must visit. It features a canal running through the middle where Gondola rides are offered. There’s a Gondolania theme park with a perfect mix of thrill rides – roller coaster, drop tower, skyloop.

Desert Safari

Desert tour starts from half a day to overnight desert safaris. This is definitely the most fun part, and you wouldn’t want to miss it.

Desert safari will be done in a 4-wheel drive with skilled Qatari drivers accompanying you.

The adrenaline-charged drive down the huge serene dunes give a electrifying experience that one would never forget.
