Hugh Hefner needs no introduction and the same goes for the magazine created by him, Playboy. This magazine is hailed as one of the most successful magazines of all times, Hugh did create something big. The whole world mourned when he died on 27th September 2017. He literally followed the proverb ‘live life king size’. This man is known to have brought revolution in the world. Playboy is one such magazine which is known by almost everyone around the globe. Playmates, a term used for the models are always on top of their modelling career when associated the company. Not a lot is known about this man, here are some facts for you.

1. Despite being hailed as the leader of sexual expression, Hugh Hefner was raised as a Christian.

2. At the age of 22, he lost his virginity.

3. Before starting his own business, Hugh worked as a machine operator. But left the job after having some issues with the payment.

4. Hugh has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a double minor degree in Creative Writing and Art.

5. The initial name of the magazine was Stag Party but was later changed to Playboy.

6. Hugh Hefner eventually lost the ownership of his famous Playboy mansion. And just rented the living room at a staggering rent of $1 million a year.

7. He started the magazine after taking a bank loan of $600 and borrowing $8000 from his mother.

8. The first issue of Playboy was printed in the year 1953. It didn’t have a date.

9. He married 3 times and have had more than 5 partners until his death.

10. Playboy’s first issues featured Marilyn Monroe.

11. Due to being the editor-in-chief of Playboy for 60 years, Hugh holds the Guinness record for holding this position for the longest duration of time.

12. He even has a star on the Hollywood walk of fame along with other celebrities.

13. Hugh has appeared in a number animated series and movies like The Simpsons, Family Guy, Miss March etc. 

14. Brigitte Berman’s documentary named  Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist, and Rebel, was released on July 30, 2010.

15. An award named Hugh M. Hefner First Amendment Award was created to honour individuals who have made significant contributions in the vital effort to protect and enhance First Amendment rights for Americans.
