Pennywise Returns To Scare Us Again As It Begins Shooting This Summer

Prepare yourself for the haunting coming your way in 2019.

A sequel to IT was confirmed by New Line Cinema back in September and fans have been excitedly waiting for more information ever since. We now have an update on the shooting schedule and get ready because plans are apparently ongoing to begin filming this summer in Toronto.

It: Chapter Two is expected to start production around 18 June, with stage work taking place at Pinewood Toronto Studios. Filming will probably wrap up around November, giving the cast enough time to unleash terror on the citizens of the Canadian city.

Fans of the best-selling novel by Stephen King will know that making a sequel was always the plan. Producers intended to split King’s rather large novel in half, leaving the story of the kids in the Losers Club in 1989 and continuing 27 years after that. The Sequel will see the kids of the Losers Club returning as adults in an attempt to defeat Pennywise, once and for all; Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård is expected to return as Pennywise the clown.

While the adult cast is yet to be confirmed, rumours have spun that Jessica Chastain will play the role of grown-up Bev. The actress has expressed interest in the role, telling ScreenRant last year that she would love to take up the part.

‘Well, I love Andy and [producer] Barbara [Muschietti],’ Chastain confessed.

‘I worked with them on Andy’s directorial debut, you know, his film, Mama. His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so…We’ll seE.

‘Listen, of course, I want to work… they’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen.’

It remains one of the best-selling films of last year having brought in a bloody $700 million worldwide, in spite of only having a budget of $35 million. The second chapter is set to hit cinemas 6 September, 2019
