Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will add ambulances with two beds to its fleet in order to serve far-slung areas.
A source in HMC informed that a plan is laid out after extensive study to meet the need of the patients. With this new addition, the number of ambulances required could be halved in case of accidents or situations with multiple people with an injury.
“Previously HMC had to send the same number of ambulances as the number of injured people, but now it will be possible to reduce the number from 6 cars to 3 cars if the number of injured is 6,” the report said. This will be majorly used in the external areas of Doha.
The ambulance crew in Qatar has 570 medical assistance, along with 36 ambulance supervisors using rapid intervention vehicles and 25 specialists for critical cases.
