Al Gharafa’s latest recruit Wesley Sneijder was delighted to be in Doha and hailed the facilities at Aspire Academy and Aspetar Hospital. He was also happy with the preparations for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Dutch playmaker said that things are handled professionally and it will be seen on the ground when they come to Qatar for the World Cup.
Speaking about his contribution to Al Gharafa, he said that the most important thing is the mentality of the player. He added that when he was at Ajax academy, there were a lot of highly skilled players but their mentality was not good and, hence, they did not succeed.
He advised young players to focus on the game to become a professional footballer and play at the highest level, and stressed that talent alone is not enough.
Al Gharafa had recently snapped Sneijder on an 18-month deal.
