In the initial days of the siege there was some tensions in Qatar and the world suspected Qatar’s ability, however, the country managed to beat all the doubts and has once again started to attract investments from all over.
Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, said that in spite of the blockade, Qatar is an attractive investment destination for global investors.
He gave the example of large turnout of international exhibitors at the three day Index Qatar exhibition.
“Even after the siege on Qatar and the economic blockade, we still see many people participating in various exhibitions being held in the country, and many people have a lot of trust in the Qatari market, which has a large potential for further growth,” he said.
He also said that Qatar is seeing a growth in the construction market and real estate projects, in addition to the constant continuation of the projects related to 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Interior designers, manufactures and suppliers from around the world are displaying their products at Index Qatar. Sheikh Khalifa expects the signing of deals and alliances between Qatari and foreign companies.
