Hamad International Airport was adjudged as the Best Airport in West Asia for the third consecutive time at the Future Travel Experience (FTE) Asia Awards 2017 in Singapore.
The airport was rewarded for its continued commitment to delivering the highest standard of service to the passengers. The winners were selected by a panel of industry executives from around the world.
“We are honored to receive the ‘Best Airport in West Asia’ award for the third consecutive time, which recognizes our state-of-the-art facilities and 5 star services. HIA will continue to work towards delivering sophisticated and innovative solutions that offer an unparalleled travel experience,” HIA Chief Operating Officer Eng. Badr Mohammed Al Meer said.
FTE Founder Daniel Coleman said the awards recognize organizations for their “end-to-end customer experience achievements,” noting that since 2014, “HIA has been setting the standard for the modern day airport experience and we are pleased to witness what it has been able to achieve in a short period of time.”
The mixture of cutting-edge technology, world class sculptural art curated in partnership with Qatar Museums and extraordinary hospitality and retail offering has placed the airport in a different league.
FTE was established in 2006 and is dedicated to improving the end-to-end passenger experience. The FTE Asia Awards were launched in 2015 with the aim of recognizing outstanding airports and airlines that are dedicated to improving the end-to-end passenger experience.
HIA is currently a candidate for the “Best Airport in the World” award by Skytrax which also classified it as a five-star airport in 2017, making it one among only five other airports in the world to achieve this prestigious status.
HIA has also won the “Best Airport in the Middle East” title for three years in a row and “Best Staff Service in the Middle East” for two years in a row.
