A new FM Radio service will be offered to the country’s Malayali expatriate community. Malayalam is the native language of Kerala, a state in Southern India. The channel Malayalam 98.6 FM will be officially on Tuesday by Indain Ambassador P Kumaran. Regular service will be aired from Tuesday itself.

The station’s programme head Abdul Gafoor said that the broadcast will be between 5am and 11pm. The radio would have daily entertainment programmes, including music, current affairs, talk shows on a host of topics featuring community leaders, programmes for women and children among others, he said.

“Malayalam 98.6 FM broadcast will be available across Qatar,” Gafoor added.
