According to reports, the security forces comprising of 15 armed men stormed into Sheikh Sultan bin Suhaim al-Thani’s palace in Doha. The raid was conducted last Thursday evening at 9:00 pm and ended at 3:00 am.
Around 137 bags and a number of iron boxes containing the documents and holdings of Sheikh Sultan were seized during the process. Holdings and archives of his father, former Foreign Minister Suhaim bin Hamad Al Thani, which constitutes a wealth of information and political value, and accurately records the history of Qatar and its internal events since the sixties until his death in 1985.
The authorities froze all the accounts of Sheikh Sultan and sealed his seals, sukuks and commercial contracts. Earlier the accounts and property of Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali al-Thani was seized for his role in the crisis.
