Malaysian Companies Looking For Opportunities To Be A Part Of 2022 FIFA World Cup Project – PM

Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said that he expressed his views to Qatari Emir regarding Malaysia’s wish to see its companies being given opportunities to participate in Qatar’s 2022 FIFA World Cup infrastructure development.

Najib said: “I was informed that Qatar’s preparation as the host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup is running smoothly and I have expressed my hope for Malaysian companies to be given the opportunity to be involved in infrastructure development for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.”

He added that Emir’s visit enabled Malaysia and Qatar to further strengthen both countries’ economic ties.

“Bilateral trade between Malaysia and Qatar had increased 36.5% from January to August 2017 to US$384.4 million (about RM1.62 billion) versus US$300.5 million in the same period last year,” Najib said.
