According to the demographic stats of the 43rd edition of Qatar, the population of the country had reached 2.4 million at the end of July 2017, which means there was an annual increase of 6.3% when compared with the population at the end of July 2016.
The report was released by the ministry of development and statistics. The report showed that the total number of had reached about a million mark with the largest number of visitors coming from Gulf countries with a percentage of 41.8%.
The latest report highlighted the increase in number of Sold Properties as the number reached to 238 properties during July 2017. The figure has registered a monthly increase of 76.3% in comparison to last month, June 2017.
The bulletin also noted the decrease in the total value of sold properties as it was 1838 Million Qatari Riyal during July 2017. The figure has registered a monthly decrease of 48.8% in comparison to last month, June 2017.
A total number of 2,205 births has been registered in July 2017, on the other hand, 172 death cases were recorded during the same month.
Meanwhile, the total number of registered marriages was 299 contracts at July 2017, while the total no of divorce cases was 63 declarations during the same month.
This edition highlighted significant increase in number of Beneficiaries of Social Security as it has reached 13,649 beneficiaries during July 2017. Thus the total value of Social Security, has reached about 78.3 Million Qatari Riyal during July 2017.
Coming to the electricity and water consumption, the bulletin revealed that the total electricity utilization value during July 2017 was 4,521.8 GWh attaining a monthly increase of 4.6% compared with last month. The bulletin also showed that the total value of water consumption has reached 45,304.7 Thousand m3 during the same month, registering a monthly decrease of 3.3%.
The number of building permits reached 629 during July 2017, an increase of 53% when compared with the previous month. A total of 451 traffic cases were recorded during July 2017, resulting in a monthly decrease of 7.4% in comparison with previous month June 2017 where it reached only 487 traffic cases. At the same instance, 11 death cases were recorded during July 2017.
The number of vehicles registered saw a decrease of 14.1% in July 2017 with a total of 3839 vehicles registered. In June 2017, a total of 4471 vehicles were registered.
Total broad money supply (M2) recorded about 532 Billion Qatari Riyals during the month of July 2017 showing an annual increase of 8.3% compared with July 2016 from last year. On the other hand, cash equivalents (including deposits) attained for 772.5 Billion Qatari Riyal during July 2017. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 12.8% in comparison with July 2016 from last year, as it recorded approximately 685 Billion Qatari Riyals.
