Qatari Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani held talks with Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj here on Saturday even after the illegal blockade of Qatar by the four Arab nations.
The minister accompanied by his delegation had a meeting with the Indian minister and other officials.
They discussed about the bilateral relations and also developments regarding the Qatar blockade and illegal actions taken against Doha.
Indian workers welfare in the Qatar also came up for discussion during a meeting.
Sheikh Mohamed tweeted from his official handle that, ” and ; a long history of partnership, cooperation & coordination. Fruitful mtngs serving the interests of our friendly nations.”
Sheikh Mohammed also met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted,
“EAM @SushmaSwaraj welcomes Mr. Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Foreign Minister of Qatar on his visit to India,”
“Bilateral issues, including welfare of Indian workers in Qatar were discussed.”
India is close to Qatar as it is the largest gas supplier of New Delhi.
