HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani will visit Indian capital of New Delhi on Friday evening, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced.
During the two day visit, he will talk with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj, leading Indian daily Hindustan Times reported, quoting the MEA.
Qatar has always been an important trading partner for India in the Gulf region with bilateral trade in 2014-15 amounting to $15.67bn. It is also one of India’s largest suppliers of crude oil.
HE Sheikh Mohamed will told talks with Swaraj, followed by a call on the Prime Minister on Saturday, the MEA said.
