Qatar Defence Minister Wants Siege Countries To Apologize for hacking QNA

Minister of State for Defence Affairs, H E Dr Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, with President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in Ankara, yesterday.

Beforing entering into Kuwait’s mediation to settle Gulf crisis, the siege countries need to apologise for hacking the official site of the Qatar News Agency (QNA) and lift the blockade, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, H E Dr Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah said yesterday.

“Solution to the Gulf crisis is clear: The siege countries (Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt) should apologise for hacking the QNA website and the fabricating statements attributed to the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, lifting the siege, and then go to Kuwait for dialogue,” Al Attiyah said.

H E Dr Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah also said that Qatar is open to dialogue and repeatedly stressed its readiness for talks but with respect to its sovereignty.

Al Attiyah met with Russia’s Minister of Defence Sergey Shoygu in Moscow. They discussed about ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the military field, particularly in the air defence. Latest regional developments in the Middle East and other issues of mutual interest were also reviewed. Aspects of cooperation between the two friendly countries and the possibility of exchanging experiences and military training courses were also covered in the talk. The two sides praised the distinguished relationship between the two friendly countries.
