In most of the OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers) cases, we always read about their ill-treatment, but now for a change let us read about a touching story of a Qatari teenager showing his gratitude to his Filipina nanny – in Filipina language.

The video soon went viral as people fell in love with it and even Filipino netizens appreciated the gesture of the teenager.

In the short clip, the young man from Qatar said he has always considered his Pinay nanny – Yaya Zubaidah – as the 7th member of their family.

He went on to say that Yaya has been living with them for more than two decades, she first worked for his paternal grandmother before his father took her in after the old woman died.

“Mahigit 20 taon nang isang mahalagang bahagi ng pamilya namin si Yaya Zubaidah simula pa noong ipinanganak ako. At hindi ko lubos maisip kung anong uri ng pagpapalaki ang mangyayari sa akin kung wala siya sa buhay ko,” the young man said.

[For more than 20 years since I was born, Yaya Zubaidah became a quintessential part of my entire family’s life. And I cannot imagine what my upbringing would be without her in my life.]

He added it was because of Yaya Zubaidah why he always hold a soft spot for the Filipinos.

“Bilang isang Qatari, taos-puso akong nagpapasalamat sa Filipino community dito sa Qatar para sa inyong ‘di katanggi-tangging contribution sa paglago at pag-unlad ng aking bansa,” he said.

[As a Qatari, I whole-heartedly extend my gratitude to the Filipino community here in Qatar for your undeniable contribution to the development and progress of my country.]

The video has received almost 2 million views since it was uploaded on August 17.
