A 104-year-old woman from Indonesia has reached Jeddah for her Haj pilgrimage. Baiq Mariah is the oldest among 220,000 pilgrims from Indonesia this year.
Mohammed Hery Saripudin, consul general of the Indonesian Consulate in Jeddah, said that she was in good health and will be able to carry out her Hajj rituals with comfort.
She was specially taken care of when she departed for Saudi Arabia. According to reports there are around one million Muslims in the waiting list in Indonesia to perform Hajj.
