Dubai’s airline confirmed that it would continue to sponsor the shirts of Qatar-owned Paris Saint-Germain until 2019, in spite of the regional crisis.
The announcement comes after the signing of Brazilian Neymar by the club, who moved to PSG from Spanish Giants Barcelona in a World Record transfer.
“Emirates has a sponsorship contract with the French football club PSG until 2019. So far the club has fulfilled its full obligations and we see no reason to terminate the contract,” a spokesman for the airline told.
Meanwhile, a spokesman from PSG also confirmed the same and said that the partnership would “continue as planned”.
PSG players have worn the Emirates sponsored jerseys since 2006, the airlines also sponsors to clubs like AC Milan, Real Madrid and Arsenal.
The much anticipated debut of Neymar depends on the transfer certificate from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), he is not allowed to play in the French league until the transfer certificate is received.
