The interactive workshops and exciting activities with numerous beach side adventures were the highlights at Doha Festival City this August.
The event is popularly known as ‘summer in the city’, it offers unique experience to children at different locations in the mall. Children aged between 4 to12 are allowed to play in Ships Ahoy, a colourful pirate-themed adventure ball pit located in Doha Festival City’s Centre Court. The ball pit is open daily until August 26, every half an hour between 3pm and 9pm. Entry is free.
Speed crazy people can make the most out of radio-controlled toy cars where people can compete for free by by driving their high-speed remote control cars through various tight turns on the ‘sand dunes’ to the finish line.
The beach-themed Seaside Works of Art offers face painting for children, who can also decorate stones, paint shells or personalise their T-shirts. Located in the Cloud Node, the event is free of charge and held every hour between 3pm an 9pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Participating kids aged four to 12 years can also keep all of their creations.
Kids can present their creativity in Summertime Modelling where children will be able to create their own beach scene and other colourful creations. The event is open on every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until August 26.
Abdallah, a father of two, said the variety of events offered at Doha Festival City provided “quality family time” for many parents and their children.
“Some of the outdoor activities that my family enjoys are still on hold, at least until the weather gets better. We love going to the beach, which is why the theme of these activities suits all of us,” he said.
