Joint Naval Drills By Turkey And Qatar To Be Held On August 6-7

Turkey and Qatar will be having a joint naval drills on the 6th and 7th amid crisis in the region. Qatar Emiri Navy commander Maj. Gen. Mohammed Nasser Al Mohannadi and the Turkish TCG Gokava discussed regarding the same.

Turkish vessel with 214 servicemen have already reached the Hamad Port. The two nations launched the first stage of the exercise earlier, over 250 Turkish servicemen and around 30 armoured vehicles took part in the drills as part of a 2014 bilateral security agreement.

The exercise will be carried on despite the crisis in the region. Saudi-led bloc had severed ties with Qatar after accusing it of supporting terrorism, which was denied by Doha immediately.
