Qatar’s ministry of municipality and environment and the public parks department opened 87 public parks across the nation to encourage sporting activities among people.
“From 2010 to 2016 the department developed 40 parks,” a source at the ministry told a local media channel.
“Parks are very important and Qatar has achieved a number of the projects in this regard as the government gives priority to them,” the source added.
The public parks department worked with Ashghal to identify suitable places for plantation. The plantation annually produces between 3 to 4 million small trees and seedlings.
“In every public park, we need a minimum 5 engineers; electrical, civil among other staff,” the source said.
The source added that the smart parks offer many services like Wi-Fi and also stays friendly with the environment. The parks also have security employees and cameras.
The Public Parks Department at the Ministry recently opened three new public parks at two municipalities.
The three new public parks were for families and equipped with all the required facilities including entertainment, sports facilities and play areas for children.
