The Torch Doha showed its solidarity with Qatar and its leadership by displaying the popular image of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani on its exterior. The famous portrait is being called as Tamim Al Majd, originally drawn by artist Ahmed bin Majed al Maadheed.
The Torch Doha used its canvas to support the leadership and exhibited its loyalty with the leadership of the country. The virtual rotating portrait is the biggest so far in Qatar to be publicly showcased and can be seen from a distance of over 3km.
“The portrait has become the face of Qatari unity during the ongoing economic blockade. Its presence on our exterior marks a very proud moment for us, representing our support to the nation.
The response this virtual display has on the public is remarkable, as we daily receive a big number of photos from our guests and the city’s residents. Such a significant show of support is truly inspiring to see,” said Torch Doha General Manager Sherif Sabry.
The portrait will continue to attract crowd every night. It is the tallest building in Doha with 300 metres, the exterior has a total of 2624 LED lights.
