Acne build-up has become a common problem. It commonly caused due to poor hygiene and a poor diet. A few days ago a Facebook user Stef Villena posted a warning on Facebook to warn other users to stop using this combination in trying to eliminate acne-causing bacteria. Many Filipinos have been mixing Eskinol Cleanser with a capsule of Dalacin C or Clindamycin—which is an antibiotic, to treat, prevent, and eliminate acne.
Some of the netizens claimed that the blend works for them, and that their faces cleared after using it. But, according to Stef it may cause antibiotic resistance, wherein the bacteria will be able to resist the drug if not used the right way.
Take note that it is always better to consult a dermatologist that to self-medicate.
What is Antibiotic resistance?
Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria changes in a way that it reduces the effectiveness of drugs, chemicals, or other agents designed to cure or prevent infections. The bacteria survives and continues to multiply, causing more harm.
