Glaucoma  is considered as one of the prime causes for blindness among people over 60. The early stages of Glaucoma has no symptoms. In the prolonged stages of glaucoma salvaging vision is very difficult.

The inclusion of more nitrate-rich vegetables in the daily diet lowers the risk of developing glaucoma and green leafy vegetables are the best source of nitrates.

Those who consume more leafy green veggies were less likely to develop paracentral glaucoma ( condition that is specifically related to blood).
