A man going by the name ‘Mishri’ masquerading as a Manager for at least three companies, Al Sahaba Building Construction, Asasa Engineering, Insight Advanced Construction and Paradise Trading and Supplies in Sanaya is being accused by at least 130 Nepali expats of duping them.

According to the workers they have not received any wages or allowances since April and their condition has become worse from the past couple of weeks as Mishri has absconded, leaving the workers in a fix.

The workers had to pool about QR550 to formally lodge a complaint with the Embassy of Nepal in Qatar on June 23. Seeking the intervention of the Embassy the workers stressed that they want to go back to Nepal as soon as possible.

One of the workers, GopilalKarki said, “The workers don’t have the amount required to travel back to Nepal”.

The Embassy of Nepal in Qatar has promised to look into the affair and take the necessary measure to rectify the situation and alleviate the problems of the workers.
