An 87-year-old US engineer converted to Islam after staying for nearly 55 years in Saudi Arabia, a newspaper reported on Thursday.
Albert Hans decided to embrace Islam this week after such a long stay in the oil-rich Gulf Kingdom, during which he witnessed the eras of sis kings, Sada said.
“He converted to Islam on Ramadan 21 and choose Mohammed as his name,” the paper said in a report from the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah.
Born in California, Hans has 24 grandchildren. He came to Saudi Arabia in 1961 and was the main engineer in power network designs at royal palaces and other places.
