Service roads on the Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Attiya intersection and the D-Ring Road are going to be closed for traffic, temporarily, according to an announcement made by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).
On Thursday, June 30 to Friday, July 29, 2016 the service road on the left side of intersection will be closed and the service road on the right side of the intersection will be closed on Monday, July 11th and it would re-opened on the 9th of August 2016. The closure has been made inevitable as maintenance works on the said roads to repair the cracks that have developed overtime are due
A traffic diversion plan has been put in place for the convenience of people. Commuters who wish to reach the area of the closed service road on the western side must take a left on the intersection onto Haloul Street, reach the roundabout and then return. Commuters traveling towards Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Attiya intersection from Al Asiri interchange can also use the Haloul roundabout to reach their destinations, whereas commuters on the right side of road should take a right to reach the intersection on the Ali bin Abi Taleb Street to travel towards their destinations.
During the maintenance period all necessary signage in the area to notify drivers during work period would be installed by Ashghal. The authority also urged all road users to abide by speed limits, traffic rules and signs for their own safety as well as for the safety of other commuters.
